The increased velocity flows allow W&E to use smaller, more cost-efficient turbines down to the delivery of only one megawatt (MW) of electricity per unit or enough to power approximately 1,000 homes and scalable to much larger capacities. Unlike its competitors, the Water Accelerator has the ability to operate in both high and low velocity sites, generating energy from marine currents or from rivers or estuaries; sites that were previously considered to be commercially unviable.
