Australian BioRefining was founded in 2004 with goal of developing and commercialising new processes and technology for the clean production of value added chemicals and materials from renewable resources. Since 2004, Australian BioRefining has secured R and D Start funding and subsequently COMET funding through Ausindustry, developed and lodged a provisional patent for the manufacture of organic acids from sugar , discovered a new process for value adding to sugarcane flyash, raised second stage capital and established a demonstration plant in Northern NSW for their gluconic acid technology, and is currently producing gluconic acid with initial sales of the first product expected this financial year.
