Philip Mendes
Philip Mendes is a lawyer practising exclusively in the area of commercialising intellectual property, and has been in practice for 25 years. He specialises in the commercialisation and financing of technology, including the formation and financing of start-up companies, and negotiating licenses to pharmaceutical companies and other multinational licensees. He has led the negotiation of major international licensing deals and collaborations.

The firm’s clients include venture capital funds, public companies, numerous start-up companies, universities, cooperative research centres, medical research institutes, federal and state government departments and agencies, and other public sector organisations and non-profit research organisations. The sectors in which Innovation Law practices are principally life sciences, information technology, and engineering sectors.

He was engaged by the International Trade Center (of the World Trade Organisation) to contribute a number of chapters on pharmaceutical licensing and strategic alliances to its publication on international trade for biotechnology companies, and by IP Australia to contribute to its innovative publication “the IP toolbox”.
